So, you wanna know about Olivia Ray…

Olivia Ray (she/they) started acting in 2009 at the age of 8 in Aladdin at her elementary school, but fell in love when she was Charlie at age 9 in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She would later move onto other musicals, despite struggling to dance, such as Beauty and the Beast (LeFou), Grease (Ensemble), Annie (Orphan), Peter Pan (Toodles), Oliver (Cop, Ensemble), Les Miserables (Old Lady, Student), and Beauty and the Beast, again (Monsieur D’Arque). In their final years of high school they enjoyed exploring other theatrical avenues like Shakespeare (Midsummer Nights Dream), Symbolism (The Blind by Maurice Maeterlinck), and even their own written work. In fact, at 16 she was introduced to playwriting in her Honors Theater Directing class. Their first play Paracosm was a finalist in California Youth Playwrights Competition in 2017 and finalist in Marin County’s Youth Playwrights Contest in 2018. Her second play The Argent was a semifinalist in California Youth Playwrights Competition in 2019. In the same year they were accepted into NYU Tisch’s Experimental Theater Wing.
